It appears it worked.

Former Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams agreed to a one-year deal with the New York Jets on Tuesday.

Williams can make up to $15 million, and will team up with future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Williams was in New York on Tuesday to meet with the Jets, and was scheduled to meet with the Carolina Panthers and Pittsburgh Steelers later this week. However, he never got out of New York, and will remain there for the 2024 season.

While there were likely tons of reasons Williams decided to sign with New York, one of them potentially could have been because of a fan.

On Tuesday, popular Jets fan of social media, @NYJ_Matt, decided to do his part in convincing Williams to sign with the Jets.

He sent a famous New Jersey breakfast sandwich to Florham Park with Williams' name on it. He wanted him to try the famous Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese sandwich, in the hopes that it would convince him to join the Jets.

He asked the delivery driver to hand it to the team and say, "This is for Mike Williams and let him know catching passes from Aaron Rodgers is more fun than catching from Bryce Young."

Williams was reportedly considering signing with the Carolina Panthers, too.

The Jets' social media team had some fun with it, confirming they got the package on Tuesday.

The Jets ended up signing Williams a few hours later, and @NYJ_Matt got some love on social media from current Jet players.

The Jets got their new receiver, and maybe, Williams has a new favorite sandwich place (if he got to eat it, that is).
