The Los Angeles Chargers' chances of making the playoffs went from impossible to try again next year.

The Bolts drop their eighth game of the season to their AFC West division rivals, the Denver Broncos, at home, 24-7. The now 5-8 Chargers could only muster one touchdown, which came in the fourth quarter. It was their first touchdown since Week 12 of their loss to the Baltimore Ravens, which also came in the fourth quarter.

A lot went wrong for the Bolts: the offense couldn't score consistently, star quarterback Justin Herbert injured his finger, which caused him to miss most of the game, and the defense couldn't get timely stops. However, none of that matters to Chargers or NFL fans, as head coach Brandon Staley received all the heat after the game on Twitter.

The Bolts are likely out of the playoff race after the game, and this is a complete 180 from where many of us thought they'd be before the season started.

There was so much enthusiasm surrounding this team, from the offense, Justin Herbert, and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, to the defense and their talented pieces all around. Instead, this season will go down as one of the most disappointing in recent memory.

The seat for Staley will only get hotter, and the jury is in with fans; they want to see a new coach for the Bolts ASAP.

The writing is on the wall; the damage has been done. It's only a matter of when it will happen. The Chargers need a new face; it never worked with Staley, and now it's all crashing and burning all at once.
