The Los Angeles Chargers enter their 2023 season with a lot of new plans in place and most of those have come thanks to the addition of offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. He has a number of seasons under his belt in which he oversaw the development of a talented Dallas Cowboys team.

When it comes to the new strategies he will implement into the Bolt's system, it's important to note that he has always been a coach that likes diversity and, more specifically, the running game.

LA struggled to successfully come up with any first downs from their running plays in their 27-point collapse against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2022 playoffs and that ended their season. Moore is well-aware of everything Herbert brings to the table and he wants to focus on limiting all of his responsibilities rather than changing his routines.

"He's just really detailed, really diligent with his work," said Herbert. "He really has just been awesome to kind of collaborate and make sure, as we go through this process, that we don't lose anything as we go through a transition. I think that's one big part of this thing, is that there's been a lot of success. Justin has had a lot of success his first few years. We want to make sure we build off of that and not start from scratch."

The Bolts have a huge season ahead of them as they look to brush off fraud labels after their huge wild card loss. Nobody doubts the talent of Herbert but it's important that the coaching staff and rest of the roster play their role in ensuring that nobody can outscore them.

Moore is going to do his best to bring the most out of guys such as Quentin Johnson, Mike Williams, and the rest of the crew as they try to steal the throne out from under the Kansas City Chiefs.
