We are just a week away from the first official Sunday of the new NFL season. It's an exciting time for anyone who loves the game, and it brings up certain expectations for every team.

Of course, each team wants to win the Super Bowl. But in reality, only a select handful of teams will likely be true contenders. One of those teams this season could possibly be the Los Angeles Chargers, and they are determined to build on their success from last season.

LA has all the tools needed to find major success on the field this year, but they can't beat themselves. They are led by a star quarterback in Justin Herbert, and their defense should be good once again.

Star defensive end Joey Bosa opened up about his mindset entering the new year, and it seems to be very team-focused.

"Every year, I want to play great. I want to help my team. I think that, more than ever, I just want to win some games," Bosa said Thursday, via team transcript. "Doing my job is, I think, more important than ever. Obviously, I want to be dynamic and make plays and all of that, but I think being a team player is the most that I can be, while still going out there and being myself and making these plays. With the talent that we have, especially with [Khalil Mack] on the other side, if we just do our thing, stay consistent, then we'll both be successful."

This is how the Chargers are going to ultimately be successful this season. They must play for each other each day and continue growing as a team.

Bosa leads the defense that has a chance to be very dominant if they can stay healthy. He has dealt with some significant injuries in the last few seasons, so everyone hopes he can make an impact this year.

He is an x-factor on the defensive side of the ball and one of the leaders for this entire team. The Chargers have a chance to do something special this season, and it's completely up to them how their story gets written.
