In this story:

This is about to be music to Justin Herbert's ears... the wide receiver crop that the Los Angeles Chargers currently possess is looking like it will compete to be the best in the league. It may have taken three years but LA is looking like they have the perfect amount of versatility within their pass-catchers for their star QB to work with.

Kellen Moore is going to introduce a variety of new offensive schemes for the roster to implement game by game and by bringing in Quentin Johnston among other 2023 draft picks, he will bring a youth and speed element that was much needed.

It's not like the Bolts were ever suffering at the WR position. A lot of other teams would be more than happy to have Keenan Allen and Mike Williams as their top options. Add to the fact that Austin Ekeler led all running backs in receptions last season with 107 and you can see for yourself exactly what they have over in LA.

However, Allen and Williams are growing older and already have sustained injuries in recent years while Ekeler's future with the Chargers is not guaranteed at all.

Joining the Bolts this coming season along with Johnston is his former TCU teammate Derius Davis. He will likely be their pass returner of the future as he was able to record five touchdowns in 44 returns during his final collegiate season.

Through all of this, Bleacher Report's David Kenyon has ranked LA's WR depth as third in the league.

"Keenan Allen sat seven games in 2022, but he posted five straight years of 97-plus catches before then. Mike Williams missed four, but he's an explosive wideout who has averaged 15.7 yards per receptions in his career."

"To the Chargers' credit, they upgraded the room's depth—and prepared for the future—in the draft. Los Angeles used a first-round pick on Quentin Johnston and added TCU teammate Derius Davis in the fourth round. For good measure, Joshua Palmer had 72 catches for 769 yards and three touchdowns last season.Justin Herbert should have no shortage of options in 2023, even if the ever-present injury bug bites the Chargers yet again."(Via Bleacher Report)

If they live up to this hype, expect the Chargers to turn a lot of heads once the new season rolls around.
