Dream Scenario for Chiefs in the 2025 NFL Draft

The Chiefs, along with the rest of the National Football League, will start the 2025 NFL Draft next week. The Chiefs would like to improve their roster, but what is one thing they hope happens?

The Kansas City Chiefs will kick off the 2025 NFL Draft next week. The first pick they will have will come at the end of the first round. With the 31st pick overall, the Chiefs can do a lot of different things with that pick.

The Chiefs can take their biggest need, look to trade up like they did last season, or even trade out of the first round and add more draft capital in the later rounds.

The Chiefs have found success and talent in every round of the draft before. General manager Brett Veach has been good about getting the Chiefs the players they need and the ones that best fit the culture in Kansas City. This time around, Veach has more work to do because the Chiefs have a lot of areas to still fill on their roster.

The Chiefs want to get better for next season and the draft is the place to do it. Now as they inch closer, what are some things that can go their way in the draft and see them take advantage of other teams mistakes like we have seen before?

Sports Illustrated's Gilberto Manzano gave his dream draft scenario for all NFL teams and for the Chiefs the dream scenario is top running back prospect TreVeyon Henderson falling to the second round and the Chiefs landing him.

"In my mock draft, I had the Chiefs taking Henderson at pick No. 31 instead of drafting an offensive lineman. In this dream scenario, the Chiefs get it all and draw a collective head shake from the rest of the league for getting Henderson in the second round after taking one of the top tackles at the end of the first," said Manzano. "An improved offensive line with explosive playmakers such as Henderson and 2024 first-round pick Xavier Worthy could be enough to give Patrick Mahomes a dominant offense again."

If somehow Hendson falls to the Chiefs in the second round, that means the Chiefs would have addressed their two biggest needs on the offensive side of the ball in the first two rounds. Leaving the rest of the draft, potentially up to the defense, and adding talent on that side.
