Eagles QB Jalen Hurts Tops Patrick Mahomes in PFF Fantasy Rankings

Philadelphia Eagles star Jalen Hurts claims the top spot on PFF's fantasy football quarterback rankings

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts had quite the breakout season in 2022.

Hurts showed flashes of being a special player in his first two seasons, but he fully realized his potential in Year 3. He accounted for nearly 4,500 total yards and 35 touchdowns, finished as the MVP runner-up and nearly led the Eagles to a Super Bowl LVII title. After taking such a massive jump, Hurts is now near-universally seen as one of the NFL's elite quarterbacks, and he's now getting paid like one as well.

When it comes to fantasy football, Hurts' perceptions is even higher as arguably the best quarterback in the game. The Eagles star earned the top spot on PFF's fantasy quarterback rankings, owing to his strong dual-threat game.

"Jalen Hurts leads the bunch due to his ability to add more value with his legs than almost any quarterback in the league, averaging nearly 10 rush attempts per game in 2022 (QB kneels excluded), which led to 13 rushing touchdowns," PFF writes. "Hurts also proved that he could hold his own with the best passers in the league, earning an 80.6 passing grade (sixth) while limiting turnovers and maximizing his opportunities. With arguably the best receiving weapons in the league, there should be no concern that Hurts can keep it rolling into 2023 as a top-tier fantasy quarterback."

Hurts is one of three quarterbacks in Tier 1, along with Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills and Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs. These three players had the most points in fantasy football last season, albeit not in the same order. Mahomes had the most with 428.4 points, followed by Allen with 412.2 and Hurts with 384.

Notably, Hurts placed much better on this list than he did on PFF's previous ranking of starting quarterbacks. He came in at No. 7 on that list, but he tops the rankings this time.

While stats and fantasy value is great and all, Hurts is much more concerned with winning above all else.
