Eagles Ex LeSean McCoy Has Bold Take on Nuggets' Nikola Jokic in NBA Finals

After a 12-year NFL career, former Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy has joined the media - and has no shortage of strong takes, the latest of which centers around Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic amidst the NBA Finals.

Former Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy has stayed busy in the sports industry since retiring in the fall of 2021, delivering his takes on Fox Sports 1's "Speak" television program alongside Emmanuel Acho and Joy Taylor.

McCoy, 34, was never one to mince words and has made headlines for many of his opinions over the past several years - and continued that trend this week.

In the aftermath of discussing the Denver Nuggets' 104-93 victory over the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, McCoy was asked whether Nuggets center Nikola Jokic has proven he's the league's best player ... and gave an emphatic answer.

"What are we talking about? Jokic is the best player walking right now," McCoy said. "This guy is a two-time MVP, back-to-back, for a reason. ... He's doing the same thing he did those two years in the playoffs, in the finals. He's averaging a triple-double. How is he not the best?"

McCoy, who spent six seasons with the Eagles, gave credit to Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, the 2023 MVP winner, for being in the discussion, but continued to put his support behind Jokic.

Why? McCoy cited statistics, noting that Jokic holds the second-best three-point shooting percentage in the playoffs at 48 percent and leads all postseason players in shooting percentage (54), rebounds per game (13) and assists per game (11).

"What are we talking about? He's affecting the game better than everybody," McCoy said.

Jokic will continue his pursuit for an NBA title - and to prove McCoy right - at 8 p.m. Sunday, when the Nuggets host the Heat for Game 2 of the Finals.
