Eagles BREAKING: Haason Reddick Trade Permission Granted by Philadelphia to All-Pro
An offseason filled with questions seems to be getting murkier for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Philadelphia has reportedly allowed All-Pro edge rusher Haason Reddick to seek a trade this offseason, as first reported by Ian Rapoport.
Reddick has recorded 27 sacks in his two seasons with the Eagles since signing a three-year, $45 million deal back in 2022.

Any trade of Reddick would be tricky for the Eagles and other teams to facilitate. Reddick carries a dead cap hit of $19 million. The dummy years on his deal mean that the team would also owe the former first-round pick over $13 million if they waited until after the 2024 regular season.
Reddick is one of just two players in the NFL to have double-digit sack seasons in each of the last four years joining recently anointed Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett.
There is a chance that Philadelphia could decide to keep Reddick, but with 26-year-old Josh Sweat expected to carry a dead cap hit of $20 million on his own, the Eagles would essentially choose the player they drafted in the mid-rounds of 2018 over a player that has 10+ sacks with three different organizations.
Despite the logical cap constraints the Eagles are dealing with, losing Reddick would be a blow to a defense in transition in terms of dominant talent. Philadelphia drafted Nolan Smith in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, but outside of Sweat and him, there isn't a lot of consistent pass-rushing prowess for a team that finished 24th in the league at getting after the passer.
There is no guarantee that the team even trade the Temple product, but this report is the first step in the direction of Philly moving on from the All-Pro.
