'I See Where That's Headed': Bijan Robinson Speaks on Falcons Amidst Draft Buzz

Texas running back Bijan Robinson opened up on the recent buzz surrounding he and the Atlanta Falcons ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft.

The Atlanta Falcons have officially reached crunch time ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft.

As owners of the No. 8 overall pick, the Falcons are in a tricky position where most premiere defensive players are projected to be off the board.

There is, however, one highly touted prospect with no red flags who's almost certain to be available - Texas running back Bijan Robinson.

Be it because of coach Arthur Smith's affinity for running the ball, general manager Terry Fontenot's tendency to lean best player available and place less emphasis on positional value, or anything else, buzz between Robinson and the Falcons has grown in recent days.

How's Robinson feel about it? In an appearance on NFL Network, the unanimous All-American revealed his thoughts about the sudden hype.

"Yeah, I mean, the Falcons, that's a great organization, great coaches," Robinson said. "I had a chance to meet with them, as well - it was an awesome meeting. I kind of see where that's going in, where that's headed at.

"But for me, we just don't know - we could have a surprise, or anything could happen, but I just know God's going to put me in the right team, right position wherever I'm at."

Robinson alluded to his formal meeting with the Falcons at the NFL Combine, in which he met Smith, Fontenot and the rest of Atlanta's staff.

Shortly after the Falcons meeting, Robinson spoke with reporters and raved about his experience.

"It went great, it went great," Robinson said. "I love the whole staff - just great people, first off, and I can tell what they're trying to do with the program. I think we'll see going down the line where it goes, where it ends up, how it goes."

Now, "down the line" is ... Thursday night - and the buzz both inside and outside of league circles surrounding Robinson and the Falcons is as strong as it's been yet.

But as the 21-year-old alluded to, "we'll see ... where it goes" - and perhaps more importantly, where he goes, and whether that proves to be Atlanta.
