Atlanta Falcons-Los Angeles Rams Week 7 Live game chat

The Atlanta Falcons host the Los Angeles Rams looking to end their four-game losing streak. The Rams, themselves, are on a three-game losing streak and are hoping to move back above .500 with a victory.
For live updates and fan reaction from the matchup, stay tuned to our chat all afternoon:
#Falcons take a knee to finally end this one.

Rams win, 37-10. ATL falls to 1-6 this season.
#Rams trying to run out the clock & punt. #Falcons had no one deep to field punt.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
But Russell Gage fields it off the bounce, while fighting for extra yards, fumbles. LAR recover ball in end zone.
It's been that kind of day, that kind of season.
This #Falcons performance has left me speechless. We'll see if Dan Quinn or anyone else after the game can put words on this pig.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
Austin Hooper scores garbage time TD. At least #Falcons reach the endzone in this one.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
30-10 LA. 2:36 left.
Matt Schaub now in at QB for ATL.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
#Falcons announce Matt Ryan has an ankle injury and is out for the remainder of the game.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
Not sure we can take much from the "Out" status because this is about to become a 27-point deficit with under 6 mins to go.
But obviously, still the last thing ATL fans want to hear
Todd Gurley still out here getting a lot of carries.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
I find that interesting because his touches are down this year & the Rams lead by 24.
Matt Ryan was very slow to get up, and he's limping off the field with trainers. #Falcons
— Will McFadden (@willmcfadden) October 20, 2019
Austin Hooper finally hauls in a catch. #Rams held ATL's leading receiver without a catch for almost 44 mins.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
If that's going to be the play calling the rest of the game, might as well take Matt Ryan out for his safety.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
If he stays in, take some shots down field. You're down by 24 at home to a team that's lost three straight. #Falcons
Devonta Freeman's ejection leaves ATL without it's top two running backs for the rest of the game.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
Ito Smith is out with a head/neck injury. #Falcons
#Falcons give up a TD on the opening drive of the second half.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
ATL has now fallen behind by at least 17 points in five straight games. They have been behind by that amount in six of seven contests this year.
Falcons announce Ito Smith has a head & neck injury and is out for the rest of the game.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
I suspect Devonta Freeman will get a lot more touches in the second half. He had 8 touches in the first half.
#Rams outgained ATL 222-108.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
Passing yards - LAR 201, ATL 88. https://t.co/oIeosZBNq0
Really disappointing series there for ATL. Falcons had prime field position with a chance to shrink this lead right before halftime.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
But they go backwards.
Falcons get the defensive stop. They'll get one more possession in first half & do have all three timeouts remaining.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
#Falcons were very close to another big play to Jones down the sideline, but the All-Pro WR couldn't quite haul in the pass.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
Instead, drive ends in missed FG. That's disappointing & now #Rams have 1:11 to work with & ball at LAR 40.
Matt Ryan hits Julio Jones for 39-yard gain down sideline to start their 2-min drive. Best play for ATL offense of first half.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
#Falcons D did a great job getting off the field on third down, but Rams run a successful fake punt.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
Most frustrating part of that was LA punter Johnny Hekker gave away he was throwing a pass before the snap. ATL still out of position. Hekker's throw gained 23 yards.
#Falcons drive bogs down just as they enter #Rams territory. Devonta Freeman loses seven yards with first-down fumble.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
Looked like on the replay he was trying to switch arms with the ball, but he was moving the ball to the arm closer to the defender.
Todd Gurley looked like a receiver on that TD grab in the corner of the endzone.#Falcons D has to feel robbed after a questionable personal foul call gave Rams first down on that drive.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
But unlike last week, ATL can't let calls going against them linger into their play.
#Falcons get their first contact on a quarterback in weeks & get flagged for roughing the passer.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
Rams have not run the ball well in the first Q, but the play-action pass is still working.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
Ito Smith suffered an injury on the last play. From the press box, it didn't look like he was moving much.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
On the replay, he knocked heads with a defender in pass protection.
No official update yet, but he left the field in a cart.
Matt Ryan off with his last two passes. One was behind Russell Gage up the field & the other was too high to Julio Jones down the sideline.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
Both would have been first downs & significant gains. #Falcons will punt.
#Falcons D holds up again. #Rams attempt long field goal. Greg Zuerlein hits it from 55 yards out.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
3-3. #Falcons D playing well in first Q.
Not a good offensive series following the defensive stop. Matt Ryan sacked twice in a 3-and-out.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
Rams will start their next drive at their own 43-yard line.
#Falcons come up with a nice stop on third-and-2 at their own 22-yard line. #Rams then miss FG.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
It doesn't go down as a redzone stop, but it might as well be. ATL is near the bottom in redzone D, but good start in that area today.
Three straight runs for #Rams to start. Grady Jarrett couldn't quite make the stop in the backfield on third-and-1 to force a punt.#Falcons can't let LA establish the run today.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
#Falcons get a FG on their opening drive. Drive was extended at one point because of a Rams holding penalty on third down.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
The Rams won the toss & deferred.
— Dave Holcomb (@dmholcomb) October 20, 2019
Matt Ryan & the Falcons will start with the ball.
