After failing to address the position during the NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons are adding to the wide receiver room.

According to NFL Network, the Falcons are signing former Seattle Seahawks wideout Penny Hart to a deal.

Hart, who turns 27 this summer, is a native of Roswell, Ga., and played his high school football career in Alpharetta, which is about 45 minutes from the Falcons' stadium.

He also went to college nearby at Georgia State, where he quickly made an impact. In his freshman season in 2015, Hart caught for over 1,000 yards. After dealing with injuries in 2016 that forced him to redshirt, Hart returned in 2017 to the tune of another 1,000-yard season. In 2018, he managed just 669 yards but chose to enter the draft despite having one more year of eligibility left.

Leaving school early may have been a mistake for Hart, who went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft. The Indianapolis Colts signed him in undrafted free agency, but released him just before the start of the season. He caught on with the Seahawks and carved out a role for himself for three seasons, primarily on special teams.

Now, Hart joins his hometown Falcons looking to compete for a spot on the 53-man roster.
