Atlanta Falcons quarterback Marcus Mariota may not take the field for the team again, but it probably won't be the last time we see him in a "Dirty Birds" jersey.

According to NFL Network, Mariota is starring in a new docuseries from Netflix called "Quarterback" alongside Kirk Cousins (Minnesota Vikings) and league/Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs).

The three stars of the new documentary had very different storylines throughout the season.

Mahomes continued to perform at a high level and was named MVP for the second time in his career as he led the Chiefs to another Super Bowl victory.

Cousins over-performed for the Vikings at the beginning of the season, but struggled at the end and couldn't lead Minnesota to a playoff win at home against the New York Giants.

And then there's Mariota, who returned to the starting quarterback ranks for the first time since the 2019 season, and played well enough to keep the Falcons contending for a postseason berth until the final month of the season, where he was benched in favor of third-round rookie Desmond Ridder.

Perhaps the documentary will offer more behind-the-scenes access to explain the mystery behind Mariota's benching and subsequent departure from the team.

The documentary is set to premiere sometime this summer on Netflix.
