New York Jets’ Super Bowl Odds Rise on Rodgers’ Effect

SI Sportsbook currently views the Jets as one of the eight most-likely NFL teams to win it all

Wagering your green on Gang Green means backing a semi-favorite when it comes to the odds to win Super Bowl LVIII.

The expected arrival of quarterback Aaron Rodgers has given the New York Jets a boost up the board. SI Sportsbook currently lists the Jets as a 14-to-1 shot to raise the Vince Lombardi Trophy next February.

Gang Green’s +1400 odds to win it all have dropped since the 2023 odds market opened in February. With quarterback uncertainty hanging over the franchise, the Jets were initially priced in the +2500 to +3500 range depending upon the sportsbook.

Currently carrying a 14:1 payback, Robert Saleh’s Jets are tied with the Dallas Cowboys for sixth overall on the list of favorites to win the next Super Bowl. In terms of their AFC standing, the Green & White rank fourth out of 16 teams.

SI Sportsbook lists the reigning NFL champion Kansas City Chiefs (+550) as the team most-likely to win Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.

The three-time reigning AFC East champion Buffalo Bills and the San Francisco 49ers sit tied for second on the odds sheet at +750 or 15:2. The Super Bowl LVII runner-up Philadelphia Eagles (+800) are next followed by Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals (+900).

The Jets’ stock has been noticeably on the rise since Rodgers, a four-time NFL MVP, expressed his intention to play in New York during a featured appearance on the Pat McAfee Show. Gang Green lacked adequate production at the quarterback position last year and many view the 39-year old Rodgers as an instant upgrade.

The Jets showed postseason potential during Saleh’s second season at the helm. Gang Green jumped out to a 7-4 overall record before unraveling due to a multitude of factors, including quarterback performance.

Saleh’s defense finished the 2022 campaign as the NFL’s fourth-ranked unit (311.1). New York allowed the fourth-fewest points (316) on the circuit.
