Steelers, Aaron Rodgers Tabbed 'Biggest Winners' Of NFL OTAs

In this story:
The New York Jets made the right decision when they opted to cut veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers earlier this offseason. Rodgers has been surrounded with drama while the Jets and newly signed quarterback Justin Fields have gotten to work.
But earlier this month, Rodgers officially signed his contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the vibes couldn't be much higher in the Steel City right now. With head coach Mike Tomlin at the helm, adding a future Hall of Fame quarterback could make the Steelers dark horse Super Bowl contenders.
Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report recently called Rodgers and the Steelers some of the biggest winners of the NFL's OTAs this offseason.
"It’s fair to question how much Rodgers has left in the tank—last year with the New York Jets, Rodgers’ QBR of 48.0 ranked 28th in the league. But what can’t be questioned is that of the options available to the Steelers, Rodgers was the best," Davenport wrote. "The Steelers still fashion themselves contenders in the AFC North, but making a deep playoff run with Mason Rudolph under center wasn’t likely. Now the Steelers can focus on football without daily questions about Rodgers’ status."
It's hard to deny that these two sides aren't both major winners right now. Rodgers has a final chance to win a Super Bowl with a legendary head coach, a dominant defense, and a developing offensive core.
The Steelers were able to land the best quarterback on the market at a severe discount. Instead of asking for $40 million a year, Rodgers signed for just over $13 million. Pair this with the fact that the veteran is excited to mentor Will Howard and the Steelers are in a dream world right now.
