2023 Jets Country Player Profile: CB Jimmy Moreland (33)

In this story:
New York Jets' cornerback Jimmy Moreland is trying to break back onto a National Football League active roster.
The 2019 seventh-round draft pick, who has 37 career regular season appearances to his credit, spent the entire 2022 campaign on Gang Green's Practice Squad after signing last September.
Moreland played 30 games over two seasons (2019, 2020) with Washington. The 5-foot-11 defensive back was waived at the end of the 2021 NFL Preseason and landed with the Houston Texans one week later.
Logging seven appearances in 2021, Moreland competed for the Texans until May 2022 when he was released by the AFC South squad.
The former NCAA Division I FCS All-American, who made 18 interceptions highlighted by six pick-six plays for James Madison, had a preseason stint with the Philadelphia Eagles before winding up with the Jets.
As a pro, Moreland, who has 10 career starts, has totaled 88 tackles, five passes defensed, one interception and one forced fumble.
He inked a reserve/future contract this past January, but faces a lot of competition for a spot in the crowded cornerbacks' room.
