The Division II product has already achieved a rare feat.

Undrafted free agent receiver Jerome Kapp attended New York Jets' rookie minicamp on a tryout basis and impressed enough to earn a contract.

Kapp is one of three undrafted rookie receivers battling for a spot amongst a crowded position group, joining Stephen F. Austin's Xavier Gipson and Southern Mississippi's Jason Brownlee. The 6-foot-3 small-school product is one of 13 receivers on the Jets' 90-man roster.

Kapp frequently out-classed his D2 competition at the collegiate level. In 2022, he averaged a conference-leading 19.5 yards per catch for an 8-3 Kutztown team.

Kapp began his collegiate career at D2 Seton Hill before transferring to Kutztown. In three seasons with the GoldenBears, the two-time All-PSAC East First Team honoree totaled 122 receptions for 2,190 yards and 22 touchdowns.

Kapp made himself noticeable during OTAs practices that were open to the media. There may not be a roster spot available come September, but the underdog receiver is trending toward a Practice Squad offer.
