After five days, there is still no word regarding the whereabouts of former Detroit Lions cornerback Cam Sutton.

The veteran was released by Detroit's front office 24 hours after it was revealed a warrant was issued for his arrest in Florida.

The warrant is for domestic battery by strangulation, which is a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison.

Detroit intends to void Sutton's $10.5 million in guaranteed monies for the 2024 season.

Since the news broke online last week, the 29-year-old still has not turned himself in, sparking speculation regarding his whereabouts and hope that he has not harmed himself or others.

With the NFL owners meeting taking place this week, questions will be asked of the Lions and the Steelers, as Sutton started his career with the AFC organization.

According to the Detroit Free Press, "Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said he reached out to ex-Lions and Steelers CB Cam Sutton in-light of the off-field issues Sutton is dealing with. Asked if talked with Sutton, Tomlin said, 'None of your business'".

Drafted in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the veteran has recorded nine interceptions in 101 games over his seven-year career.

In 2023, Sutton appeared in 17 regular games for Detroit in his first season in Motown. He recorded 65 combined tackles, four tackles for loss, six pass defenses and one interception.

There was expectation the veteran would rebound after a down season with the addition of several new defensive backs to the roster.
