Charles Barkley Is Rooting for Detroit Lions to Succeed in 2023

Charles Barkley is a fan of Lions head coach Dan Campbell.

One of the top NBA analysts is rooting for the Detroit Lions to have success in 2023.

Charles Barkley, who has never shied away from sharing his opinions, expressed on a recent edition of "The Bill Simmons Podcast" that he was excited about the hype surrounding the Lions, due to his admiration for head coach Dan Campbell

“I love Dan Campbell," said Barkley. "I love Dan Campbell. That guy makes me, like, you know, I played football for one day, and I realized I was a wuss. I quit football after one day. When I'm watching Dan Campbell, I'm like, ‘I want a do-over, I want to play for that dude.' So, the number one thing I'm looking for is, I want the Lions to do well, because I love me some Dan Campbell.”

Part of the reason the team has experienced a significant level of hype this offseason is that the coaching staff, led by Campbell, is full of likable former NFL players who relate to the roster well.

After winning eight of their final 10 games last year, Campbell and the Lions have been thrust into the limelight.

With the regular season fast approaching, the eyes of the NFL world will again be on the Lions and Campbell.

The team opens the regular season against the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs, giving the organization another opportunity to be examined and discussed by NFL pundits.

Part of the appeal of Campbell is his authenticity and humor. Many feel his media sessions deliver the proper balance of real information and humor, despite at times facing tough questions.

For one of the top sports personalties in broadcasting, rooting for the Lions has become much easier.
