Christen Harper on Pursuing Jared Goff: ‘You Gotta Shoot Your Shot'
Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff and Christen Harper first connected through the online dating app Raya.
Harper initially thought that the veteran signal-caller made the first move, but after going back and checking through past messages, it was discovered the SI Swimsuit model actually reached out first.
"When we went and looked back, I actually sent the first message," Harper told Fox News digital.
Harper and Goff became engaged back in June of 2022.
"So, all you ladies out there, you better send the first message, because you never know," Harper expressed. "You gotta shoot your shot. You miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take."
While Harper did not have a strong knowledge of football back in 2018, she has worked to understand the game and to balance the time away, due to the significant amount of time Goff spends preparing to play and being out of town.
"It was an interesting dynamic just to see how much work they put in and see how busy they really are. I mean, these guys are working so much, and to see the other side of it is amazing," Harper said. "It took some balancing from both of our schedules to make it work. And, I think in the beginning, it was good because we were both busy. And now, we really have to figure out ways to give and take. And usually, the offseason is more the time when I get to focus on my projects. And, during the season, he’s focused on his stuff. So, it actually works out pretty well. But, we find a way to make it work."
