C.J. Gardner-Johnson: 'Grass Is Definitely Greener' Joining Lions

Fans of the Philadelphia Eagles continue to struggle moving on from defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson signing a one-year contract with the Detroit Lions.
A Philadelphia-based social media account shared what many supporters of the defending NFC champions feel about Detroit's versatile safety.
MK Sports Talk opined, "This guy was beloved in Philly. Now he's nothing but a constant clown that has Eagle envy. Took less money to be a lesser team. Grass isn't always greener (pun intended)."
The veteran, who has not shied away from battles with NFL fans on social media, indicated that joining the Lions has been beneficial to himself and to his family.
"I got time today, STFU!!," Gardner-Johnson replied. "I'm still beloved by the real ones, my g! Love was never lost! And grass is definitely greener, my g. My family STRAIGHT."
Throughout Detroit's offseason workouts and OTAs, the 25-year-old has been a vocal leader, indicating the team has not seen a player with his extremely elevated level of energy and passion for the game.
"I've played a lot of ball this past four years, so I think a lot of guys get behind me from examples I set in games," said Gardner-Johnson. "Coming into the culture for me, right now, it’s adapting. It’s minicamp right now, so we’ve got a long way to go.
“It ain’t about the culture. It’s about football. If you want to win, you gotta be yourself. You can’t try to exceed the next person, that ain’t you. You know how that goes?”
