Look: Lions QB Jared Goff Blinged-Out
Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff is among the most popular members of the roster.
Prior to minicamp, the team released photos on social media of Goff donning the jewelry of teammates Kerby Joseph and Tracy Walker.
Last season, Minnesota Vikings signal-caller Kirk Cousins caused a stir online when he surfaced in photos following a 20-17 win over the Washington Commanders.
The veteran quarterback flaunted high-priced chains and watches on the team plane. Teammates were also shown celebrating with Cousins on the plane ride home.
Back to basics on offense
For Detroit's offense, the plan is to be able to execute plays already in the playbook at a higher level, while at the same time steadily adding new concepts.
“I think a lot of what we are into now is just, here’s what happens, you implement your system, which is what we did last year. We kind of revamped what we had had. And Ben (Johnson) laid it out. And so what happens is you do some good things and then the next year it is, alright how much do you just really -- let’s get really, really good at this, versus, here is a couple new ideas," Dan Campbell explained at OTAs. "And you are always going to want a few new ideas. But how much of it, versus just let’s go back to the basics of what we did last year and let’s do them better. Let’s just fundamentally get a little bit better. A little bit sharper with it.
"That is the tug-of-war we play right now," Campbell continued. "I’d like to believe that certainly, we want more. I mean that is what this game is. We did some good things offensively, but we want more out of it. And I think that is what we are into now and what camp will certainly be.”
