Lions Elevate Dan Skipper, Brandon Joseph against Falcons

Lions have elevated two players off of the practice squad.

The Detroit Lions announced two players that were elevated from the team's practice squad to the Active/Inactive list for Sunday's contest against the Atlanta Falcons.

Offensive lineman Dan Skipper, who was recently brought back after stint with the Indianapolis Colts, and safety Brandon Joseph are eligible to play this week.

Unfortunately for Detroit, the injury bug hit the team relatively hard after the home opener.

In a loss to Seattle, the team lost safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson with a torn pectoral muscle and also lost starting safety Kerby Joseph with a hip injury.

As a result of Taylor Decker and Halapoulivaati Vaitai missing Week 3, Detroit is now turning to veteran Graham Glasgow to start at right guard.

It is presumed Penei Sewell will again play at left tackle, with Matt Nelson starting at the right tackle position.

Despite Sewell being highly self-critical, offensive coordinator Ben Johnson expects the talented lineman to play at a high level this week, wherever he lines up.

"It is a little difficult changing from one side that he’s been working on and I think he’s admitted that it’s taken some time," said Johnson. "But we see growth every single day. He’s getting more comfortable with it and I feel very -- whatever side he’s on, we feel very good about the production we’re going to get out of him.”
