The NFL world is reacting to the news that Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson requested to be traded earlier this month.

For the Detroit Lions, their public support of quarterback Jared Goff has not wavered since he first stepped foot at the team's Allen Park practice facility.

Detroit general manager Brad Holmes and the coaching staff have been impressed with how the veteran signal-caller rebounded following the 2021 season.

It would have been easy for Goff to sulk or demand to be traded after being sent to an organization that was clearly rebuilding.

Instead, Goff has embraced the process, and has forged a solid relationship with offensive coordinator Ben Johnson.

The timing of Jackson's post on social media was highly suspicious, as the talented quarterback waited until nearly 30 reporters were huddled around and talking to Ravens head coach John Harbaugh at the annual owners meetings to drop his bombshell announcement.

“I haven't seen the tweet. That's an ongoing process,” Harbaugh said. “I'm following it very closely, just like everybody else is here, and looking forward to a resolution. I'm excited, thinking about Lamar all the time, thinking about him as our quarterback. We're building our offense around that idea.”

For Lions fans, the debate about adding a player with Jackson's skill set was reignited online, as fans continue to be split about Holmes and Co. making a deal to acquire a quarterback with elite passing and rushing skills.

Here is a sample of the reaction to Jackson's letter posted to social media.
