Lions Fans Disappointed Jamaal Williams Called Out Team

In this story:
Supporters of the Detroit Lions are disappointed former running back Jamaal Williams expressed publicly this week his frustrations with how negotiations went with the team's front office.
Speaking with Saints reporters for the first time, the 27-year-old commented on if there was an opportunity for his career to continue in Detroit, especially after a stellar 2022 campaign.
Williams commented, “The offer they gave me, I felt like was disrespectful and showing that they really didn’t want me to be there like that."
After two years in Detroit, Williams signed a three-year, $12 million contract to join the Saints organization.
The veteran running back also indicated he had an opportunity to briefly chat with Saints running backs coach Joel Thomas at the Super Bowl, and the conversation may have led to his new opportunity.
“But the funny part is, I feel like I manifested this, kind of. Because Coach Thomas, he’s a great dude," Williams said. "He’s a great dude. And we was just like, not really talking at the Super Bowl, we were just casually saying like, ‘Hey, how you doing?’ Just talking a little bit. And the last thing I said to him when we was breaking off was like, ‘I’ll see you soon.’ I just said it. ‘I’ll see you soon.’ Not ‘bye’ or nothing like that. See you soon. So now that really sticks in my head.”
Lions supporters have expressed disappointment online that Williams decided to air out his feelings about a business negotiation.
Here is a sample of the reaction online to Williams' comments about his negotiations with Detroit's front office.
Honestly? Don't read too much into his words right now.

He's speaking from a hurt place, because he really wanted to be back in Detroit. So he's kind of lashing out.
Bye ✌️ One dimensional back who really didn’t earn that record imo. Hell I could’ve ran it in that many times from the 1.

Huh, I don’t understand? If what the Lions gave you was so “disrespectful”, then why’d did you go take less money from the Saints? 😂 if anything, it’s your agent that’s disrespectful. I’d fire him Jamaal Williams.
