Rumors: Eagles Calling Lions about No. 6, Teams Calling about Swift

Lions could trade No. 6 overall pick, D'Andre Swift leading up to NFL Draft.

The Detroit Lions are rumored to be receiving phone calls regarding their assets ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft.

The latest rumor comes from WalterFootball.com's Charlie Campbell, who states that the Lions have been taking calls about the No. 6 overall pick, as well as running back D'Andre Swift.

"In every NFL draft, some veteran players are shopped around and teams are making calls trying to acquire a veteran. One player to watch this year is Lions running back D'Andre Swift," Campbell said. "Teams have been calling Detroit to see if Swift is available after the franchise signed David Montgomery in free agency. Swift has played really well for Detroit when on the field, but has had a hard time staying healthy. Swift is in the last year of his contract, so teams probably won't be willing to give up anything more than a mid-round pick. Swift will be an interesting player to monitor because some teams are interested in making a deal for the fourth-year pro."

After losing Jamaal Williams to free agency in the offseason, the Lions signed David Montgomery as his replacement.

Montgomery and Swift could form a potent duo, but Swift's durability issues have his future in doubt entering the final season of his rookie deal.

Campbell wrote Monday that the Philadelphia Eagles have been calling teams in the back half of the top 10 of the draft, in hopes of trading up for Georgia DT Jalen Carter.

He noted that the Eagles moved up in last year's draft to select Carter's former Bulldogs teammate, Jordan Davis.
