Former Detroit Lions OL Joins Scouting Department

Detroit Lions make hiring of Chris Grier official, announce updates to player personnel staff.

The Detroit Lions have offiicially announced promotions to a few members of their pro player personnel staff and added a former National Football League player to the scouting department.

Offensive tackle Jamarco Jones, who had a stint in Motown (2024-2025), has been added to the scouting team.

Rob Lohman is now the Vice Preseident of roster operations, while Dwayne Joseph is now in the role of Vice President of Player Personnel. Joe Kelleher has been promoted to Director of Pro Scouting.

Mark Olsen is in the role of assistant Director of College Scouting.

Detroit also made the hiring of Chris Grier official, as he is now serving the role of Personnel Advisor.

Prior to practice on Wednesday, Dan Campbell was asked how fluid the conversations are with general manager Brad Holmes at this point in training camp.

"I mean, we see players very much the same way. We respect what players do, how they play pretty much the same way, what they put on tape and so those happen. It doesn't happen every day, but it does happen. But I think we're going to kind of stay away from a total eval. That's what we're going to do a little different, a total eval until late," said Campbell. "Let's just get all the way through this almost, and then let's really sit down and deep dive.

"And let's get a really good perspective, certainly from the coaches, myself, but he and his staff, personnel department, man, what are they seeing? And then Brad and I will come together at the end of all this. But yeah, I mean, we certainly communicate.”
