Lions Fans React to Chiefs Opener: Mahomes Is In Trouble

In this story:
The Detroit Lions will open their 2023 NFL season on primetime and against the defending Super Bowl champions.
With all of the hype surrounding the Lions, it is no surprise that the league wanted to showcase one of the rising teams in the NFC against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Lions head coach Dan Campbell understood what factors allowed his team to finish the 2022 regular season winning eight of its final 10 games.
"I think we did some things the right way," said Campbell on the latest "Green Light" podcast. "We played the game a certain way. We were playing smart football. We took care of the football offensively. I mean, we led the league with the least amount of turnovers, and most of that happened in that 10-game stretch. And then defensively, we started getting takeaways. So, I don't care what team you are, that's always going to be the most important component is, is the takeaway ratio, turnovers and takeaways. So, that's got to be a part of our DNA for sure."
Now, the revamped Lions will have an opportunity to open the season at Arrowhead Stadium, with a great opportunity to prove what they are about against one of the best teams in the league and perennial Super Bowl contenders.
Supporters of the Lions took to social media to express their confidence that the AFC powerhouse is in trouble matching up against the NFC North favorite.
Here is a sample of the reaction online to the Lions opening the season against the Chiefs.
