Vegas Views Lions Favorably in Home Finale Against Steelers

In this story:
The Detroit Lions are entering their final home game at Ford Field in 2025, and it is a big one.
As Detroit clings to its playoff hopes in a crowded NFC playoff picture, a date with the Pittsburgh Steelers awaits. With the matchup set for 4:25 p.m. Sunday, early odds are favorable on Detroit's hopes of winning.
Currently, the opening line on DraftKings Sportsbook views the Lions as seven-point favorites over the Steelers. Pittsburgh is coming off a 28-13 win over the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football.
The Lions have their work cut out for them over the final three weeks, with three straight wins over that span serving as their best chance to get into the postseason. Lions coach Dan Campbell noted that the team will be attacking their final three opportunities to earn wins in 2025.
“Yeah, go to work. Go back to work. Go back to work, that’s the message," Campbell said. "And don’t worry about the what-ifs, this – yeah, we’ve got to win, so be it. (Expletive), we wanted to win Week 1, we wanted to win Week 2, we wanted to win Week 8, we want to win this one. So, keep putting the work in, the focus, the detail and trust the guy next to you is going to do his job. You do your job, do it the very best you can do it and let’s go find a way to win a game.”
The Steelers currently sit in first-place in the AFC North at 8-6, with a one-game advantage over the Baltimore Ravens. Led by veteran Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh has managed to stay in the lead even with the Ravens struggling without Lamar Jackson earlier this season.
Rodgers is not a new foe for the Lions, as he tormented the organization time after time during his lengthy career with the Green Bay Packers. Now, at age 42, he's returning to Ford Field for the first time since being traded by the Packers in 2023 looking to hurt Detroit's playoff chances.
Detroit is two games behind the Chicago Bears, but a win over the Bears in Week 18 would give them the head-to-head tiebreaker if the two teams finish with the same record. Currently, the Bears are in first-place in the NFC North, but the Lions have the head-to-head tiebreaker with a win over them in Week 2.
