GREEN BAY, Wis. – Before the competitive periods at the Green Bay Packers-Cincinnati Bengals joint practice on Wednesday, the quarterbacks and receivers went through some of their usual drills.

Some of those are shown in the accompanying video.

The Packers and Bengals will play in Friday’s preseason opener, with kickoff set for 6 p.m. Central. The joint practice was a strong test for Jordan Love and Co. after the Bengals finished first in opponent passer rating and sixth in points allowed last season.

“I think it was good,” Love said. “I think the receivers did a really good job recognizing coverages, things like that, and getting to the right areas on routes and I think the O-line did a really good job. It’s a different defense than we were seeing all training camp, so it was just nice to get those different looks.”

With Love expected to start for the Packers but Bengals star Joe Burrow sidelined with an injury, the Packers are 4.5-point favorites at FanDuel Sportsbook. The over/under of 35 is one of the lowest on the board for this first full week of preseason games.

“I’m excited,” Love said. “I definitely want to be out there, get some reps, get back into the game mode.”
