Puka Nacua Deems Raiders Receiver NFL's Most Underrated

Los Angeles Rams Pro-Bowl wide receiver Puka Nacua believes Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers is the most underrated wideout in the NFL.

The Las Vegas Raiders have an abundance of talent on offense, starting with six-time Pro-Bowl wide receiver Davante Adams.

Adams, who has been widely-regarded as arguably the best receiver in the league in recent years, is the focal point for every secondary that faces the Raiders. Last season, Adams' presence allowed one Raiders wide receiver in particular to make his impact felt in the passing game.

Jakobi Meyers shined as Las Vegas' receiving option in what was just his first season with the club. He ultimately finished the 2023 season with 807 yards and eight touchdowns on 71 receptions. He added two rushing touchdowns as well.

Appearing as a guest on Raiders All-Pro defensive end Maxx Crosby's latest episode of "The Rush with Maxx Crosby" podcast, Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua said Meyers was the league's most underrated receiver.

"He's nasty, and he's a dog," Crosby said in response. "He catches everything -- 50/50 balls, anything in traffic, he's coming down with it. But his route running is underrated. I wasn't aware of his game like that.

"He came into joint practice the year before when he was in New England -- this was in 2022 -- he came over there, and they were talking about Jakobi Meyers like this is their guy. ... I didn't know -- like, I knew he was a good player -- but I didn't -- bro, he was hooping out there. And then getting to see him in practice, some of his routes. Bro, he's a taller guy. Like, he's not a small, short. Bro, he cuts on a dime. He makes people look silly."

Nacua then shifted the praise to Adams.

"Being like a complete receiver is something different, but then, that's what makes being like a Davante Adams, like a Cooper Kupp, that much more elite because, man, they just put me out here to run routes," Nacua said. "Like hey, they know I'm out here because I can get open against you, every single one of you out here."

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently have the No. 13 overall pick.
