Raiders NFL Draft Prospect: HB Blake Corum, Michigan

In this story:
The Las Vegas Raiders probably won't use their first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft on a running back. They could, however, have a great opportunity to take arguably the best running back in the draft class, Blake Corum of Michigan, with their second-round pick.
Corum helped will Michigan to a national title last season while leading the nation with 27 rushing touchdowns. He rushed for 1,245 yards and recorded 117 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown while starting all 15 games for the Wolverines.
Corum was named the Amache-Dayne Running Back of the Year as the Big Ten's top running back, an All-Big Ten First Team honoree, an American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) first-team All-American, a second-team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), USA Today, and Fox Sports, and a third-team All-American by the Associated Press. He was also one of three winners of the 2023 Comeback Player of the Year Award, as his 2023 campaign followed a 2022 season in which Corum suffered a season-ending knee injury.
Despite playing just 12 games because of that injury, Corum posted a career-best 1,463 rushing yards and was named a unanimous first-team All-American for his 2022 campaign. He was also a 2022 Doak Walker Award finalist.
Pro Football Focus gave Corum an overall grade of 84.0 for his 2023 season and a 96.2 for his 2022 season.
The young running back earned a total score of 79 from NFL Next Gen Stats for his Combine showing. It was the third-best score among all running backs. Corum also received a production score of 75, the fourth-best among running backs, and an athletisicm score of 77, the 12th-best among running backs.
The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently have the No. 13 overall pick.
