Las Vegas Raiders vs. Minnesota Vikings LIVE Game Thread

The Las Vegas Raiders player their second pre-season game today as they host the Minnesota Vikings here at Allegiant Stadium.

LAS VEGAS, Nev.-The Las Vegas Raiders play host here today at Allegiant Stadium to the Minnesota Vikings.

Both teams will be holding some starters out, but that simply adds to the weight of the importance of this gridiron battle.

Remember the rule of five. If the Las Vegas Raiders win that key statistical battle, the game is over. For those who don't remember it, it has to do with sacks and turnovers. If the Raiders have three sacks and give up two, that means they are plus one. If they then get four turnovers and give up only one, that means they are plus three. That would give them a plus-four for the day. They want to get to a plus-five ratio every game. Teams that reach the rule of five scenarios win 91 percent of their NFL games on average.

HALFTIME:

It's been a tale of two quarters so far in the Las Vegas Raiders matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.

Quarterback Jarrett Stidham showed off his mobility and ability to step up in the pocket and make throws as the Raiders offense dominated early in the first quarter.

He scored the only touchdown of the game so far by utilizing his legs, scoring his second rushing touchdown this preseason.

The Raiders defense did their part in that time keeping the Vikings from making any meaningful drives on offense, but that wouldn't last for long.

Once the second quarter began, the Vikings went about forcing their will on the Raiders on both sides of the line of scrimmage.

They were able to make good gains running the ball, and on defense have often pressured Stidham.

Even so, the Vikings haven't been able to finish the job when they've been down in the red zone, and have shot themselves in the foot with being called for seven penalties for 66 yards.

Both teams will look to put together more consistent efforts on both sides of the ball when the Raiders receive the ball to start the second-half.
