Top 10 Free Agency Moves: Where Does Ravens' Derrick Henry Move Sit?

The Baltimore Ravens added some serious running back firepower in free agency, signing Derrick Henry. But in all of the signings that have happened, where does Henry to the Ravens rank?

The Baltimore Ravens' rushing attack received a major upgrade in free agency with the arrival of Tennessee Titans star Derrick Henry.

After losing Gus Edwards (team-leading 13 rushing touchdowns last year) to the Los Angeles Chargers in free agency, and with J.K. Dobbins' future in doubt, Baltimore knew it had to replenish its running back stocks.

The Ravens did so with the addition of Henry on a two-year, $16 million deal as one of the premier running backs joins the NFL's best rushing attack.

But where does Henry's signing with Baltimore rank among all other free agency signings thus far? CBS Sports has the move ranked at No. 5.

"Turns out paying decent money to a 30-year-old workhorse running back can be good in the year 2024," CBS Sports writes. "Henry may be older, but his supersized frame has enabled him to outlast peers as a pile-pushing, chain-moving featured back, and his job should only get easier in Baltimore next to the electric Lamar Jackson. The fit feels absolutely seamless."

Despite Lamar Jackson's career-high passing attempts (457) in Todd Monken's new offensive scheme, the Ravens were still the best rushing teams in the league.

Baltimore averaged 156.5 yards per game and had 2,661 rushing yards total, over 200 more than the next-best team (Bears). Edwards, Jackson, Keaton Mitchell, and Justice Hill all had their turn in the sun.

Now, we add Henry to that mix, and the Baltimore offense becomes even more terrifying. Defenses will have to plan to stop Henry as their first port of call, which will leave Jackson and his other offensive weapons with favorable matchups.

The Ravens got so close to reaching the Super Bowl last season, and with the addition of Henry, they might have just acquired the offensive piece that could push them over the edge.

CBS Sports has Henry's signing as the fifth-best, and come season's end; it could quickly become the best signing in the entire free agency window.
