Ravens Free Agent LB Kyle Van Noy Welcomes Return to Baltimore

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Kyle Van Noy was one of the better free agent acquisitions by general manager Eric DeCosta last offseason.

Van Noy tallied 30 tackles with 20 solo and nine for loss, with nine sacks, two forced fumbles, four passes defended and nine quarterback hits over 14 games and three starts. Last season, Van Noy played for a meager $1.4 million. If he returns in 2024, it will be for significantly more.

In an impromptu question and answer session on X on over the weekend, Van Noy said he's been in contact with DeCosta about returning. The interesting part is who asked the question via X ... Ravens' safety and Van Noy's teammate last season, Kyle Hamilton.

Van Noy was one of a few good signings by DeCosta last offseason, as nearly every one helped contribute to the team's AFC playoff run. In addition to Van Noy, DeCosta brought in corners Arthur Maulet, Jadeveon Clowney and Ronald Darby on the defensive side of the ball. On offense, wideout Odell Beckham Jr., Keaton Mitchell and Nelson Agholor all were integral parts of the season and the stretch run.

With Van Noy and Clowney both being free agents right now, Baltimore will need help at linebacker. And who better to sign that one OR BOTH of the players who helped you get where you were last season.

The only problem will be salary. Both players will earn more in 2024 than they did with the Ravens last year. Van Noy will surely demand ore than his $1.4 milliion from last season, while Clowney is projected by Spotrac to demand $7.2 million on another one-year deal this offseason.

Both might be priced out of the Ravens' market.
