In this story:
The NFL Draft is right around the corner, as next week will surely bring some interesting things to the surface as we get closer to opening night. With the 14th overall pick, the New Orleans Saints could do a few different things, but from the latest mock draft pick roundup, offensive tackle is the prevailing pick. Here's a look at various mocks from the past week.

Penn State's Olu Fashanu continues to be the most popular pick for the Saints, and rightfully so. New Orleans could come away with several different offensive tackles at No. 14 and be happy with it, but what could throw a monkey wrench into the plans is if any premiere prospects like Brock Bowers are there when they draft. The team could look in Round 2 to snag an offensive tackle. as some good options would still be on the table.
We should know a little more on where Ryan Ramczyk is at next week, but regardless, the Saints probably shouldn't overthink the pick and just get a potential starter to replace him. His prognosis, even with successful surgery, isn't exactly something that will get better. The smart choice is to get the tackle. The luxury is to look at a playmaker. We'll know soon enough what they decide on.

I officially started covering the New Orleans Saints & other NFL topics in 2011. My work has been featured on various outlets over the years. Prior to joining Saints News Network, I served as the Managing Editor of SB Nation's Canal Street Chronicles for 3.5 years, and before that with FanSided's Who Dat Dish as the Managing Editor for several years. I have also had experiences of being a freelance Saints reporter for The Sun Herald in Biloxi, MS and a contributing writer for WDSU, a local NBC TV station in New Orleans.
