In this story:

Russell Wilson has a new coach. But an old problem.

The new coach isn't very excited about working with him.

Coach Sean Payton ultimately took the Denver Broncos job, says FOX pal Terry Bradshaw, because he had "no choice'' but to settle for the team quarterbacked by the beleaguered ex-Seattle Seahawks star Wilson.

Did he want to work with Wilson?

“I don’t think so,” Bradshaw said, laughing. “But that’s all he’s got. He’s got no choice.''

Along the same Radio Row tour at the Super Bowl in Phoenix, Bradshaw was asked by Tom Rock from Newsday a question along the same lines. Per Bradshaw, Payton spurned the Arizona Cardinals due to his distaste for the idea of working with their QB Kyler Murray ...

And then came the similar feeling expressed about Wilson, who of course last spring forced his way out of Seattle with a trade to Denver that has worked out nicely for the Seahawks and horribly for the Broncos.

Payton, Newsday relayed from Bradshaw's remarks, "Didn't want to go to Denver because of the QB. Ultimately, he took that job in spite of Russ.''

Payton this week already demonstrated that there is a new boss in Denver as he announced that Wilson's famous "entourage'' will no longer have the run of team HQ in Denver. And maybe that's part of Payton's master plan here, a plan to "fix'' Wilson, who in fairness to him put together a Hall of Fame-level resume in Seattle before his 2022 collapse in Denver.

Said Bradshaw (who tends to speak at will and maybe is telling Payton secrets out of school) of the new Payton-Wilson pairing: "I’ll tell you one thing. He’ll get the most out of him.”

Maybe. But in reality, Bradshaw just told us way more than "one thing.''
