Seahawks BREAKING: CB Tariq Woolen Surgery; Source Reveals Timeline for Return

The elite expectations are set, and Seattle Seahawks cornerback Tariq Woolen has even more odds to defy ... but he'll have to wait until after his knee heals.

Excitement is building as the Seattle Seahawks continue OTAs, but a cloud of worry suddenly came over the team on Tuesday.

Seahawks star second-year cornerback and 2022 Pro Bowler Tariq Woolen underwent successful arthroscopic knee surgery in Houston on Tuesday, per reports from ESPN, with the injury to Woolen's knee reportedly occurred while he was walking onto the practice field last week.

Team sources tell AllSeahawks.com that Woolen's recovery timeline will be about four to six weeks in length.

Woolen, who seemed destined for a role on special teams after being a fifth-round pick last year, took the NFL by storm and tied the league-lead with six interceptions this past season before being named to the Pro Bowl. He was arguably Seattle's best rookie this season, though it's clearly a tight race between him and running back Kenneth Walker III.

Now that the elite expectations are set, Woolen has even more odds to defy ... but he'll have to wait until after his knee heals.

"Whenever I first got here to now, it's crazy cause I made a lot of steps," he said. "I beat a lot of odds and I beat a lot of expectations. People thought I was gonna be an experiment, I'm still getting better and got stuff to work on, but nobody thought a Pro Bowl, nobody thought I'd lead the league in interceptions, nobody thought I'd be a starter."

The Seahawks will continue OTAs until June 14 and will begin mandatory minicamp on June 6.
