Cowboys QB tried recruiting Cooper Kupp before he signed with Seahawks

In this story:
The Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys don't have a ton of history, but a rivalry has been brewing between the two teams since the start of NFL free agency. The bad blood began when the Seahawks signed former Cowboys edge rusher DeMarcus Lawrence to a three-year deal.
Lawrence took a parting shot at Dallas which his former teammates didn't appreciate. The Seahawks later outbid the Cowboys to sign wide receiver Cooper Kupp. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb called Kupp to recruit him to Dallas.
"Last Thursday, the Cowboys reached out about Cooper Kupp and they were interested," explained Schefter. "Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, who I understand it, were on the phone with Cooper Kupp talking to him about the idea of coming to Dallas, and it was floated out there. And then the Cowboys heard the numbers, and they were at numbers that the Cowboys weren't going to get to."
The Cowboys couldn't compete with Seattle's three-year, $45 million offer and the rest is history.

Kupp, 31, has spent his entire eight-year NFL career with the Rams, winning MVP of Super Bowl LVI in 2021. The former third-round pick has recorded 634 catches for 7,776 receiving yards and 57 touchdowns since entering the league in 2017.
Seattle now heads into the 2025 NFL season with a completely revamped offense. The team replaced quarterback Geno Smith with former Vikings QB Sam Darnold, then signed Kupp to minimize the loss of wide receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.
We'll see how these changes work out for the Seahawks in 2025, but it's bound to be interesting either way.
