Javon Hargrave Compares Steelers to Eagles

The biggest difference about Javon Hargrave's time with the Pittsburgh Steelers compared to the Philadelphia Eagles?

PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Javon Hargrave is about to play in Super Bowl LVI, but afterward, his stint with the Philadelphia Eagles comes to an interesting crossroads.

After spending the last three seasons with the Eagles, Hargrave is set to hit the free agency market. And like most former Steelers, he's assumed to be on Pittsburgh's radar as they look for defensive line help.

It's been three seasons since Pittsburgh's former third-round pick played in black and gold, but because of his past, he'll continue to be asked about his time with the Steelers. And at the Super Bowl, of course, someone was going to bring up the differences between Philly and Pittsburgh.

In a recent interview with Andscaped.com, Hargrave said he has plenty of love for the Steelers, but once he got to the Eagles, his career skyrocketed.

"In Pittsburgh, I didn't really play as much like I'm playing in Philadelphia," Hargrave said. "But when I got to Philly, they just cut me loose. They put me in good situations to win."

Hargrave has totaled 161 tackles, 23 sacks and 24 tackles for loss in three years with the Eagles. He also made his lone Pro Bowl. In four years with the Steelers, he recorded 168 tackles, 14.5 sacks and 22 tackles for loss.

To the defensive lineman, the biggest difference was his maturity as a football player.

"I just grew up," Hargrave said.

And while he has loved his time with the Eagles, he's got no regrets about what he did in Pittsburgh.

"I think Pittsburgh helped me too, but I grew up here in Philadelphia," Hargrave said.
