2024 NFL Scouting Combine: What Titans Fans Expect on Thursday

Offensive linemen and wide receivers are the Tennessee Titans' immediate priorities, but with pass rusher Denico Autry looking at free agency, an edge rusher could be a worthwhile investment.

INDIANAPOLIS — After two days of interviews, physical tests, medical examinations, and evaluations, the time has come for the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine participants to showcase their skills on the field. The Tennessee Titans and 31 other teams will be watching.

Defensive linemen and linebackers will be the first group on Thursday to go through the workout portions, including the 40-yard dash and the 225-pound bench press..

Here are some players we're looking forward to seeing on Thursday:

  • Chop Robinson, EDGE, Penn State
Pro Football Focus: "With his size (6-foot-3, 254 pounds), it won’t be a surprise for him to run in the 4.4 range in the 40-yard dash, and he has the explosiveness that could help him produce eye-popping numbers in the broad and vertical jumps."
  • Jalyx Hunt, EDGE, Houston Christian
The first player from his school to be invited to the Combine told Sports Illustrated: "I don't feel as if I need to prove I belong here. ... I know I belong here. I know it's definitely a question from people like, 'Oh you played FCS ball,' so the chip is big ... The chip is there. I'm just like everyone else who's from the FCS here."
  • T’Vondre Sweat, DT, Texas
He is 6-feet-4, 362 pounds, was Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and winner of Outland Trophy, given to the best interior lineman in the country.
  • Payton Wilson, LB, N.C. State
Winner of the Chuck Bednarik and Dick Butkus awards in 2023. Brother of Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Bryse Wilson. “Talent and speed can only take you so far," he said Wednesday. "Football IQ separates guys.”

General NFL Scouting Combine coverage

  • COMPASSION OVER COMPETITION: The Browns let offensive line guru Bill Callahan out of his contract so he could work with his son, first-year Tennessee Titans coach Brian Callahan. Said Cleveland coach Kevin Stefanski: "It's a kid's game. It also is a business. But that doesn't mean you don't treat people the right way and treat them with respect and empathy." CLICK HERE
  • CHOP ROBINSON'S NICKNAME: Penn State defensive end Chop Robinson, projected as a late first-round pick in the NFL Draft, may have one of the most unique nicknames at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. CLICK HERE
  • TITANS DRAFT DAILY: Ran Carthon likes where the Tennessee Titans are picking — No. 7 in the 2024 NFL Draft. If it makes sense, he's willing to make a trade. Here's a scenario for trading down that could benefit the Titans, especially with such a deep class at offensive line and wide receiver. CLICK HERE
  • CALLAHAN NOT NEW TO DRAFT: Tennessee Titans coach Brian Callahan says he's comfortable with the NFL Draft process, even as a first-year head coach. He gave a lot of credit to Zac Taylor and the Cincinnati Bengals, saying he was heavily involved with draft conversations as offensive coordinator. CLICK HERE
  • CARTHON PRAISES SPEARS: Part of the Q&A with Tennessee Titans general manager Ran Carthon understandably was about Titans star Derrick Henry and his free agent status. Carthon also made a point of singling out running back Tyjae Spears as the kind of player he wants on the Titans. CLICK HERE
