AllTitans.com Reporters Tom Brew, Tyler Rowland Predict Titans' Record in 2023

With the Tennessee Titans' season set to kickoff on Sunday, AllTitans.com publisher Tom Brew and reporter Tyler Rowland give their final record predictions for the 2023 campaign.

The Tennessee Titans will take on the New Orleans Saints this Sunday to kick off their 2023 slate. With the season finally here, the team at AllTitans.com gives their final predictions for how many games the Titans will win on the year.

We'll start with reporter Tyler Rowland, and wrap up with AllTitans.com publisher Tom Brew.

Here we go!

Tyler Rowland — 11 Wins

The Tennessee Titans made improvements all over the roster. Considering the Titans' cap situation coming into the offseason and the amount of needs the roster had, new general manager Ran Carthon had to thread the needle — he did just that.

Every position on the team, whether bolstered by free agent signings or draft picks, got stronger. Even a spot like offensive line that is a major question mark undoubtedly has more talent than the 2022 unit. With all the improvements, all the Titans need is a touch of health to get back to their winning ways.

One of the biggest factors here is the schedule. With the Titans finishing in second place in the AFC South in 2022, they now play other second-place finishers, rather than the first-place schedule they played in 2021 and 2022.

That means no Kansas City Chiefs, no Buffalo Bills. Even their NFC crossover game that was added when the league went to 17 games is against the Seattle Seahawks instead of the San Francisco 49ers. Add that to a division with the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans and I think the Titans get back to double digit wins.

Tom Brew — 8 Wins

Tyler has been a fan of the Tennessee Titans forever. I've been a sportswriter and impartial observer for 40 years, so we have a somewhat different perspective on a lot of things. This is certainly one of those.

The Titans' projected wins total on all the national gambling websites is over or under 7.5 wins, and there are a lot of national football people who rank them in the bottom 10 percent of the league. I am somewhere in between.

Tyler's point about rebuilding the roster is valid, but that doesn't mean the worrying can go away. The Titans had the absolute WORST offensive line in the game last year, and now they are probably better, but we don't really know that for sure. There is still a lot of doubt about whether they can block the game's best edge rushers, and we're going to find out quickly between Cam Jordan (New Orleans), Joey Bosa (LA Chargers) and Myles Garrett (Cleveland) in the first three weeks of the season. Sorry, but I'm still not sold.

I also have major concerns over what happens if 35-year-old quarterback Ryan Tannehill gets hurt. I just don't think young quarterbacks Malik Willis and/or Will Levis are ready to win NFL games on a weekly basis.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see the Titans win 11 games and make the playoffs. I'd love to see Nashville rockin' with Titans fever. That's good for business. I think this is a legitimate top-5 NFL defense, but I still question whether the offense will score enough points.

I'm predicting 8-9, but I don't feel rock-solid with that pick. That's because there are still too many unknowns. My wish? I hope Tyler is right.
