Titans RB Derrick Henry Offers Best Wishes to Injured Nick Chubb

In this story:
When you saw the Tennessee Titans taking on the Cleveland Browns when the 2023 schedule was released, the first thought that might have come to your mind was an interesting battle between two of the top backs in the NFL in Derrick Henry and Nick Chubb, but after the gruesome injury Chubb experienced in Week 2, that matchup sadly won't happen.
While this might be a major advantage for the Titans, for a third straight week they will face a team without their top running back, it definitely is sad to see as Chubb is an incredibly exciting football player to watch.
One person who is certainly saddened by the Chubb news was Henry. The conversation around running back' value, and more importantly, pay has been heavy this calendar year. Henry and Chubb are two guys at the forefront of that talk.
Henry spoke before practice on Thursday about the Chubb injury and seem to touch on the value topic as the injury brought it to the forefront again.
"It's a game of injuries, but you never want to see nothing like that happen, especially to a player like Nick Chubb, special player, one of the best backs in the league," Henry said. "Trying to make a physical run and finish a run and it ended that way. Never want to see that happen. Knowing him for a while and knowing how hard he works and all the backs just trying to get out there and showcase our talents and do whatever we can to help our teams win and doing whatever we can to show our value to each team. I know those guys try to work hard to do that every day, but it's just an unfortunate situation."
Henry also said he spoke with Chubb after the injury and gave a positive update.
"Yeah I talked to him and told him I'm praying for him and wish him all the best. He was in good spirits, so that made me feel good."
While Henry is happy Chubb is in better spirits now, he has to hope he won't be on Sunday. If Henry is the only All-Pro back on the field then he needs to look like it. Against this Cleveland Browns defense, the Titans need Henry at his best.
