NASHVILLE - Just when we thought the trade rumors were at an end, a new one arrived to entertain us for a minute or two. This one involves Tennessee Titans star running back Derrick Henry and a trade to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Of course, it is important to remember this is a rumor, and no real sources have been attached to this in any way. Still, it is worth mentioning.

According to multiple reports, the Bengals are a prime trade destination for Henry, as they are one of the top teams in the AFC, having been to the conference title game the last two seasons, both against Kansas City, where they have split the two meetings.

Quarterback Joe Burrow is a rising superstar, and his offense is one of the tops in the entire league. He has multiple talented receivers to throw the football to, and adding Henry would give them arguably the most talented and balanced offense in the AFC.

Burrow has two years remaining on his rookie contract before he breaks the bank, while receiver Tee Higgins is set to become a free agent at the end of the 2023 season. Likewise, Ja'Marr Chase will likely see his fifth-year option exercised.

In short, the Bengals offense might not retain the same talent for much longer, and this is a win now time for the franchise.

Adding Henry would alleviate some of the pressure on Burrow and the passing game while adding another element to drive them toward an elusive Super Bowl title.

This rumor certainly makes sense from the Cincinnati standpoint, and while it could materialize, at this point, it is still just a rumor, and the percentages say it will remain just a rumor.
