NASHVILLE - The burning question around the Tennessee Titans in recent weeks has been the possibility of the team adding a veteran wide receiver to the current roster.

On Wednesday, head coach Miek Vrabel was asked about the possibility that this could occur, and his response was short, sweet, and very non-committal unless you are looking for something outside of the words he uttered.

"You know, I think our focus has always been about the players we have here, and we'll keep you updated as we continue to add players to the roster," Vrabel said.

So, what exactly does that mean?

If taken in its basic form, it means that he, and general manager Ran Carthon are continuing to look at all possibilities, and if or when they make an addition, they will share that move with the public.

However, at least now, some media outlets have attempted to read more into this comment.

Yes, everyone might interpret Vrabel's statement differently; no, this statement, at least to me, does not indicate that he or the Titans organization have decided against adding a particular player to the roster.

Once again, it was a non-committal comment and should be viewed as such, despite the chance to change its narrative to something more complex.

Having sat and listened to Mike Vrabel on multiple occasions throughout his tenure as the Titans head coach, it seems pretty obvious, at least to me, that he says what he thinks, and while he can give you a bushel load of coach speak at times, his comments are;t usually designed to be complex and need deciphering.

This is one of those times. The team could still add a veteran player, but until they do, there's no need to bang the drum louder.

The Titans will tell you when they make a move.
