NASHVILLE - Malik Willis has been at the center of much speculation concerning his future with the team that drafted him in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Now entering his second season with the Tennessee Titans, Willis wants to improve and solidify his place on the roster.

On Tuesday, the local Nashville media saw Willis perform on the field for the first time since his benching late last season in favor of journeyman Josh Dobbs. Following the session, the soft-spoken quarterback had few words to share when surrounded by microphones and cameras.

On the field, Willis seemed to have a better grasp of the new offensive system, making several strong throws during the individual and team period, though there were plays where he was off target and seemed to have been on a different page than his receivers.

Still, he looked more decisive and confident compared to last season.

Asked how he was doing, Willis responded, "I'm great; how are you doing?"

While a present greeting, that short comment indicated things to come as Willis was asked about his off-season work and the improvements he seemed to make.

"I'm just trying to get better every day," said Willis. "I'm focused on what I can control."

As for what Willis did during the offseason, his answer was short.

"A lot, you know; it's been a long offseason," Willis said. "It's been a long time since the last game was played ."

As for his mindset entering this season, again Willis, and with the addition of Will Levis to his position group, Willis had few words to share.

"I mean, what does knowing that change? You go to work the same way; it don't matter," said Willis. "There's no change."

Understandably, Willis and others on this roster are likely feeling some pressure entering these OTAs, as is the case each season, but if he is, it wasn't evident from his comments.

There is a lot of time remaining for Willis and the rest; the only thing they can control is their play. It's a matter of continuing to work and progress and then letting the chips fall where they may.
