NASHVILLE - Derrick Henry became the 'king' of the Tennessee Titans offense during his third season in the NFL when the former Heisman Trophy winner broke out on his way to his first thousand-yard rushing season as a professional.

Since that time, Henry has been the focal point, and the leading offensive weapon for the Titans, and the best running back in the league, despite what others might contend.

Only a foot injury during the 2021 season has stopped 'King Henry' from surpassing the thousand-yard mark in a season. Even then, Henry only missed that mark by 64 yards in just eight games. Henry was well on his way to a second consecutive 2,000-yard season if not for that injury.

Otherwise, Henry has been almost unstoppable, having rumbled for 7,101 of his 8,335 career yards in the last five seasons,

Henry has led the league in all-purpose yards over the last three combined seasons with 5,162 yards from a list of running backs and receivers.

Entering the last season of his current Titans contract, it appears that the sun will soon set on his time in Nashville -barring an unforeseen occurrence- and this fan favorite will likely end his Hall of Fame-worthy career in another uniform; it's time for this franchise to ride their horse one more time.

Henry will turn 30 in January 2024, but with the training schedule and the care he takes in preparing his body, there is still more tread left, and with the addition of rookie Tajae Spears to take some of the load, Henry seems set for another powerful season.

Henry is the only player in the history of football to have rushed for over 2,000 yards on all three levels, high school, college, and the NFL. For what he has given the Titans and this fanbase, it's time for the Titans to salute him with an opportunity to end his run here in grand fashion with a season fit for a king.
