Titans Tease Oiler Throwback Jersey Reveal Date
NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans social media accounts are getting the fans excited for the return of the classic Houston Oiler jerseys that are set to return during the 2023 season and recently they put out a video that may give us an idea of when fans can get their first look at the modernized version of the kit.
In the video, the Titans have a can of oil that starts to leak. Obviously, the oil can is a reference to Oilers moniker used by the franchise during it’s time in Houston. On that can of oil is text reading “coming summer 2023.” This would indicate the Titans plan to reveal the revamped old-school jersey sometime during the summer months.
It has been known that the Titans were looking to rock the classic look during the 2023 season for quite some time, but getting to actually see the jersey later this year will certainly whip the fanbase into a frenzy. It would not be homer talk to say the Oiler uniform is one of the most visually pleasing in NFL history. Fans have pined for its return and surely will garner a ton of merchandise orders as soon as they are available for purchase.
When the Titans will wear these jerseys will be interesting to watch. If the Titans want to create some drama and, quite frankly, be a little petty, they can choose to wear the throwbacks against the city that the Adams family left in the dust in either of their matchups against the Houston Texans. Not only would that make for an interesting storyline, but would certainly create some major feuds online between the two fan bases.
Regardless of when the Titans wear them, fans are clearly fired up for the return of the jerseys and the Titans social media team is doing a good job of slowly building that excitement to a fever pitch.
