Looking Ahead to Day 2 for Titans In NFL Draft

In this story:
NASHVILLE — The second day of the NFL Draft will kick off at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, and the Tennessee Titans currently hold two picks, with the No. 41 overall selection in the second round and a third-round choice that's No. 72 overall.
After addressing the offensive line in Round 1 on Thursday night with the selection of Northwestern offensive tackle Peter Skoronski, Titans general manager Ran Carthon and coach Mike Vrabel likely will turn their attention to the skill positions on the offensive side of the ball.. However, it would not be beyond imagination to see them add a defender if the board fell where that would be the choice.
Still, some exciting offensive skill guys remain that the Titans could choose from with their first pick later Thursday night at No. 41.
Here are some of those still available:
- Rashee Rice, SMU wide receiver
- Marvin Mimms Jr., Oklahoma wide receiver
- Tyler Scott, Cincinnati wide receiver
- Jonathan Mingo, Ole Miss wide receiver
- Cedric Tillman, Tennessee wide receiver
- Darnell Washington, Georgia tight end
- Sam LaPorta, Iowa tight end
- Luke Musgrave, Oregon State tight end
There are no guarantees that any of these players will be the Titans choice, but these are talented players we like that have second-round grades and would be solid additions to the Titans offense for 2023.
As for the defensive side, there are some solid talents, including one player — Penn State cornerback Joey Porter Jr. — who was thought to be a "blue" player prior to the beginning of the draft, that's still sitting there awaiting the call. I doubt the Titans will go defensive tackle, but here are some options: defensive tackle
- Gervon Dexter, Florida defensive tackle
- Siaki Ika, Baylor defensive tackle
- Drew Sanders, Arkansas linebacker
- Trenton Simpson, Clemson linebacker
- Keion White, Georgia Tech edge rusher
- Joey Porter Jr., Penn State cornerback
- Julius Brents, Kansas State cornerback
- Brian Branch, Alabama safety
Should Porter Jr. still be available at No.41, it would not be a surprise if the Titans made the call to add the long and talented corner to the roster.
