Mocking Gone Mad, Richardson To No.1

Yes, there are a ton of mock drafts, some are interesting, and some are head-scratchers. The newest one from the 33rdTeam is the latter.

NASHVILLE - Another day, another mock draft to look at, though this one is an original one from the standpoint of who the new No.1 overall selection is and for the two players mocked to the Tennessee Titans in this one.

According to the latest work from the 33rdTeam, Anthony Richardson, fresh off his NFL Combine show out is the new top pick, going to the Indianapolis Colts.

While Richardson's athletic ability is top-flight and better than both CJ Stroud, Bryce Young, or Will Levis, his game film, and as mentioned before, his Vanderbilt game film, it's hard for me to think of taking him at No.1, or even in the first round if I were a general manager.

This projection is based purely on athletic ability alone rather than what was shown on film just last season.

As for the Titans, in this two-round projection, both players were a bit of a surprise, and outside of the usual names, most mocks have regularly associated with the team.

Dawand Jones, the massive Ohio State right tackle, is given to Tennessee at No.11, filling a definite position of need.

"Dawand Jones (scouting report) fits how the Titans want to play. They get a giant man (6-foot-8, 374 pounds) to push the front and create room in the run game. He can protect the passer as well with his rare length."

While the pick isn't bad, it is somewhat puzzling that Jones played right tackle for the Buckeyes but will be flipped to the left side but the Titans.

This pick was made with Paris Johnson Jr. still available for Tennessee. Again this is not impossible, but I do wonder why?

As for the second-round pick, University of Tennessee fans will be delighted to see Hendon Hooker as part of the Titan roster.

The former Vols signal-caller gets the nod in the second and will have the opportunity, in this mock scenario, to compete with Malik Willis for the No.2 spot or possibly the starting job, depending on what transpires with Ryan Tannehill.

There is just one question I must ask here.

Now that the Titans have a left tackle and a new quarterback, who will Hooker, Willis, or Tannehill throw the ball to?

Keep on mocking!
